How do Studies at the University Help Prospective Physical Education Teachers form Their Professional Identity?

This study examines the expression of self-efficacy, academic motivation, satisfaction prospective physical education teachers in different years study, their interrelationships and intends to explain how studies help shape professional identities. A questionnaire survey was administered 783 1st 4th year undergraduate students from four Lithuanian universities. The did not affect changes students’ self-efficacy expectations intrinsic which may mean that such identity indicators are less affected by contextual factors. correlations among analysed variables showed quality teaching, clear goals, maintenance autonomy essential components environment order strengthen PE teacher’s identity. results encourage teacher educators’ deeper analysis ongoing feedback on student with as an emotional PI indicator.
